When most people think of a hunting trip they think of going to the west for elk or mule deer. Before hitting the road they shoot their guns at home and call it good. It is of upmost importantance to shoot those guns again when you arrive to your western destination as the extreme change in elevation will have adverse effects on the point of impact of your gun. I once shot my gun in Tennessee at 1.5 inches high at 100yards and drove straight to Wyoming. There I shot it again and was 4 inches high at 100 yards. The thinner air out west causes the bullet to shoot higher than it would at lower elevations. Always shoot your gun in once you get to your hunting location.

Peace of mind markings

After I get my bow set to the specs where it is shooting great I like to mark all the moving parts with White Out. This allows me to visually check the bow and all it's moving parts while I'm on stand to make sure nothing got bumped on the way in. This little step will give you a peace of mind that the bow is going to be right when you get ready to let an arrow loose.
